On This Day

Candles and cakes,
Or someone that bakes?

What is it that you wish,
On this Tuesday?
Some exotic dish,
That I'll have to pay?

Something off the cart,
Or straight from the heart?

Sister dearest, I hope you know,
You can have the moon,
Or any silly cartoon,
I'll be with you through fire & snow...

Sweet, crazy & wise you are,
Truly like a diamond, rare you are.

Now angels may fall,
And demons may rise,
You know I'm only away by a call..
These words are few, But I hope they'll suffice...

Whispers of the Trees

The mountains looked on,
and the streams gurgled gently.
As the earth gleamed,
for the many dews,
that adorned the grass,
glimmered in the sun's golden rays.
The whispers of the trees,
echoed in the forest,
as the wind spread them around,
from tree to tree.
The cries of the various inhabitants slowly leaving their slumber,
to start a new day to remember,
felt like music to these barren ears.
While the fragrance of wet mud,
wafted from some place hidden,
and filled me with nostalgia.
With greedy eyes, I looked on,
to capture more and feed my soul.
This place strangely felt like home,
though in solitude, I didn't feel alone.
The wild did summon,
and offer plenty in return.
If only you'd accept...

A Game of Shadows

Let’s play a game of shadows,
Where horrors lurk behind those windows,
The devil has our souls,
There’s no escaping these ghouls,
Doomed forever to stay in chain,
Trust me, you don’t know what is pain.
You didn’t win any battle,
And it wasn’t coz you tattle,
Shifty tales and web of lies,
Will devour you and leave nothing for the mice,
Scheming minds and vicious tongues,
While tired grow these lungs,
Between silent screams and muffled rants,
Far from over are the insistent chants,
Call it love or call it trust,
That’s what you broke for your tryst.
That pedestal is empty,
Filled with cobwebs in plenty,
Not everyone’s cup of tea,
Aren’t you tired of those constant pleas?
Those words seem so cruel,
That started off this brawl.
But as the banner men are called,
I’ll ask you not to be appalled,
Coz new alliances are forged,
And the old ones are simply torched.
No one here is devoid of sin,
How can you think we are akin?
For victims here are many,
Though none will pay the penny,
Ghostly past and uncertain future,
What’s exactly left to nurture?
Sinister thoughts and crossed boundary,
What’s the obsession with the dirty laundry?
Sadistic smile and deceptive charm,
Are part of the facade that’s only going to harm.
Forgotten is courteousness,
As we shower in self-righteousness.
Ablaze with envy,
Caught in a frenzy,
Riddled with guilt,
Glimmering is the hilt,
That’s stuck in the back of someone,
Which is why the gallows have claimed someone,
One of us, or just some part of mine,
All is in ruin and far from fine.
Whilst scarlet rivers flow,
As broken truths and shattered shields glow,
Yet empty is the hearse,
Is that what brought about this curse?
Put an end to the endless vigil,
It’s not your friend’s, it’s a fiend’s sigil.
